Personal Counselling

Teenagers in general, our students not excepted, are prone to emotional setbacks consequent upon personal frustrations, miscalculation of potentials, and maladjustment with the world around. Prolonged repression of feelings coupled with social inhibition and fear-psychosis tells on their mental health. The more introvert few, sometimes, in such stressed situations get withdrawn or slip into aberration. In order to address this alarming social problem the college runs a programme of Personal Counseling, an effective student support service of the institution. Following the time table for personal counseling notified to the students senior teachers interact with students having specific problems and help them tide over the crisis in a rational manner.

National Social Service (NSS)

The college has two active National Social Service units dedicated to the noble cause of community development. The NSS volunteers at regular intervals organize various programmes in the Municipality Ward adopted for this purpose. The stipulated 240 hrs of social service in a span of two years as well as compulsory participation in the Special Camp help the volunteers imbibe the value of living for others. The activities of both the units of our NSS have been well acclaimed by the affiliating university. The following Extension Activities of our NSS deserve special mention:

 Plantation and Pollution Control
 Campus Cleaning.
 Thalassaemia Awareness
 AIDS Prevention Rally

The College helps arranging training classes, parades, and firing practice for the enrolled cadets in the College campus. Classes and training are held for two hours once a week on every Sunday. The NCC authority supplies uniform and other necessary articles to the cadets. Once enrolled as cadet, a student has to undergo training at least for two years. The army arranges various types of camps, e.g. Advanced Leaders’ Camp, Republic Day Camp, All India Summer Training Camp, and Neighboring State Camp for the cadets.
